In 1970, Salvador “Chava” Hernandez set out to create the tastiest and most authentic Mexican tortilla chips using all-natural ingredients and only the finest quality corn. Recalling the ranch in Jalisco, Mexico where he was born, worked and shared many family gatherings, Salvador proudly chose “El Ranchero” (meaning the “ranch”) as the name for his chips. Today, we are introducing the “El Ranchava™” brand name to continue our connection to the “ranch” and to celebrate our founder’s nickname “Chava.” We’ve preserved the same premium ingredients and time-honored production methods that make our El Ranchero chips a favorite.
